ABOUT EARLY MATTERS FRESNO
Early Matters Fresno (EMF) unites more than 50 partners to collaborate, share evidence, amplify what works, and streamline resources so that we can more effectively improve the lives of Fresno’s families with young children ages 0–5. This shared understanding reflects our community’s needs and is grounded in both research and applied professional expertise. With this foundation, our members are well-positioned to direct their limited resources toward proven solutions rather than fragmented efforts.
With the goal of putting 114,600 children on a path to economic mobility by 2035, our primary areas of investment are maternal and child health, early care, and education. Our north star is for Fresno to become a beacon of possibility and hope for families and young children — a model county where strategic investments in early childhood development reduce preterm births, ensure kindergarten readiness, and foster success in 3rd-grade reading and math.
