Fresno DRIVE and Central Valley Community Foundation recently awarded $10,000 to The Alley Experience, an organization that provides pop-up fitness experiences for residents in Southwest Fresno. The organization that began offering health and wellness training in an alley, hence their name, has grown to include more classes and has expanded its services to parks, streets and other venues in the neighborhood. The organization now offers pop-up fitness classes such as free yoga, strength training, cycling and walking groups for interested residents. Fresno DRIVE Director Artie Padilla said, “We are trying to build a culture of fitness/wellness with the families in SW Fresno.” Recognizing the many benefits of bringing community members together for these healthy activities, Padilla concluded, “Through their activities, they are building social connectivity and community building.”
