How do we know if our work is making a difference — and for whom?
Our new Measurement & Evaluation (M&E) Explainer video takes you behind the scenes of how DRIVE uses data to learn, stay accountable, and support systems change across the Central Valley.
Our M&E system is built to:
support learning and improvement over time
center race equity and inclusive economic growth
reflect our community’s priorities and lived experience
and provide clear, trustworthy data to guide shared decision-making
More than anything, our approach helps partners ask and answer important questions: Are we making progress? Who is benefiting? And where do we need to push further?
Our work is organized across three connected levels. First, we do traditional program evaluation to understand what’s working within economic and community development projects. Second, we track conditions for change — like community engagement, partnerships, and racial equity — across our DRIVE initiatives. Third, we share the Fresno Mobility Metrics Data Dashboard, a free, public, interactive data dashboard that tracks indicators of upward mobility, or what helps people move out of poverty.
The dashboard allows users to explore trends over time, compare Fresno to other regions, and look at differences across racial and ethnic groups.
Educators, nonprofit leaders, and government institutions use these insights to inform funding proposals, policy decisions, and program design.
